We’re Growing Ourselves

A Toronto boss used to tell me, “You’ll never get rich selling your time for money”. True. Time for money has limitations.  And while I really like to earn well, getting “rich” has never been my primary goal.

What matters more to me is impact.

My goal is to help leaders on Prince Edward Island to be the strongest leaders in the world.  I want us to lead in so many ways:

  • To be stewards of our land and water
  • To turn the tide on our climate emergency
  • To innovate and bring needed products and services to our world
  • To model collaboration and good government
  • To create thriving, creative, safe and loving communities in which we raise our kids

To have this impact, Chandler Coaches needs to scale. We’re in the leadership development business for goodness sake. Doctor heal thyself! I’ve done enough work on my inner game that I know it’s time to shift from being the centre of our company to become a leader who develops other local Chandler Coaches leaders.

And so, we’re expanding our team and you’re the first to know. We’re delighted to welcome Rustico-born Julie Ann Gauthier who fairly recently returned to PEI from Calgary. Julie Ann brings business acumen and experience. More importantly, she brings amazing ideas, strategies, and a highly collaborative approach to help us scale our impact. I am excited to learn from each other. I am really excited for you to meet and work with her.

Happily, growing myself and our company is not a burden but rather a joy. The impulse to expand doesn’t come from fear or pressure but rather from having gained enough experience, seeing opportunity and feeling excitement about what’s possible when we have the courage to dare.

I know this growth will stretch me. I anticipate having trouble letting go of some things. I will be reactive. I will make some mistakes. But avoiding all this would mean I was more committed to safety and control vs the impact I say I want to have. So, status quo be damned.

Are you in this with us?  We need you. We’re already Canada’s Food Island. What do you say we become Canada’s (is)land of leaders too!
